The Office of the Open University System headed by Dr. Marie Claire B. Briones and Dr. Phillip G. Queroda, OUS Deputy Director for Academics, Research and Extension modernizes for the adaptation of flexible learning in the University.

The University’s flexible learning environment considers the available resources and capability of both the teachers and the students for the delivery of the lessons, creation of tutorial class based on student performance, time spent for a subject and location on where and how the lessons will be delivered.

It is for this reason that OUS, through its former Executive Director proposed for a Smart Interactive Screen to upgrade their unit by allowing users to access and manipulate electronic files by means of a LCD display. This screen serves a variety of functions, and is capable of many different things. First and foremost, would be the creation of interactivity with OUS files. In addition, the said Smart interactive will be an important tool to OUS students particularly during their defense. It can also be noted, that this will be an additional interactive screen to the first one being utilized by the School of Advanced Studies.

Through flexible learning environment, the University particularly the OUS, aims to optimize student engagement and collaboration without compromising the intended competency-based learning outcomes regardless of what instructional delivery mode will be used.
